Florida!

So... Florida was a blast...

Ok, ok, I will tell you all about it. ;)

We went to Ft. Myers, Florida. Its on the gulf side so the water is nice and warm (once you get used to it) We got there Monday night and went to Cracker Barrel for Din-Din. After a day of traveling I was starving and Cracker Barrel was very de-lish! (I quickly found out that I'm now at the stage in prego-land where I can probably eat everything in sight.)

Tuesday:
We went to Sanibel Island. If you have never been to Sanibel Island, it is a cutsie island filled with sea shells. The beach is covered in them. It was also Ethan's FIRST time at the beach. (Sorry guys I'm gonna let Shayla blog about that one...) Let's just say that the pictures and videos are Amazingly Cute and To-Die-For....

Michael and I at Sanibel
I think the combination of me just eating and the humidity make me look farther along than I really am. If I took a pic of me today I don't think I look like that.

Shayla, Ethan and I at the place where I ate 2 (mine and Michael's... I had him go back and order somthing else...) of the best Hot Dogs I have ever had... Don't worry I am gonna try my hardest to re-create it...

Mikey being Mikey... <3 Him.

After Sanibel we went Thomas Edison's House. It's in historic Ft. Myers and it is a really pretty area. Mikey and the coolest tree I have ever seen.

HISTORY LESSON: So this Tree was brought over from India by Harvey Firestone 75 years ago. Harvey and Thomas Edison were trying to make rubber an american industry by producing from plants. So they experimented with all sorts of plants and ended up using some weed that is native to FL. The Whole experiment failed due to lack of rubber that they could extract out of the plants. The government closed the project down a couple years after Edison's Death.

I have forgotten the name of the tree (Shayla knows it) but it was seriously cool. It's only 75 years old. Doesn't it look like its been there for hundreds of years? Freak... We asked someone about it and they said that it takes up over an acre!

anyways.................

Wednesday:
After going to Sanibel without our swim-suits we had the bug to go frolicking in the ocean. We headed to Ft. Myers Beach... (please excuse the lack of tan... It's kinda really embarrassing...)

Our little set up... It was soo nice to just hang out at the beach and chill and play...

Ethan loved the Beach.... What a cutie...

Thursday:

We drove to Miami... We checked into this AMAZING resort. I have never stayed in such a nice place. I was really blown away at its awesome-ness... (Thanks Crissy!)

This is from our balcony at the resort. There are 4 pools 2 hot tubs and an amazing beach. The room was freakishly awesome... I cannot describe how cool it was. The ocean wasn't too cold. So as soon as we checked in we changed into our swim suits and hit the beach. It was really fun to play in the waves. The gulf side has waves but it was nothing compared to Miami.

We walked around Miami Beach and had dinner at a pizza place... I don't know how to describe Miami. It was crazy, but not like a Vegas crazy... It was a fun crazy... We drove by Dash Miami, the Kardashian's store... We didn't get to go in, but it was cool to see... (yes I'm totally secretly addicted to Keeping Up with the Kardashians...)

Friday:

On our way back from Miami we drove thru the Everglades. We had to see us some Gators! It was pretty much awesome. I never want to encounter one of these things without a fence in between us...

This is a crocodile... I don't think I would like to meet him in a dark alley either...

Mikey and I

We didn't ride the boats. They said it was too windy that day, but I think we saw more gators on the walk than we would have if we did the boat ride...
Ps. If you ever drive thru the Everglades, I hope you don't get a flat tire or run out of gas... There were gators just chilling in the water on the sides of the road... (erg!)

Saturday:

We Drove out to Pine Island and did some sight-seeing there... I didn't take any pictures, but it was mostly a residential Island and there wasn't a beach... After that we went back to the condo and got ready to leave the next morning.

Michael and I can't stop talking about how much fun we had. Shayla, Ethan, and Cristopher are the best traveling buddies I have ever had. Ethan made the whole trip so much fun. We love that little guy. He made me laugh every day...
