Terribly Happy

I was reading on my friends blog (whilst in the middle of an emotional day) and she made a list of 10 things that make her terribly happy. It hit me that I don't do this enough. I really need to count my blessings and maybe the things that get me down, won't bother me so much. In no particular order, here I go....

1. My husband. He has always been really really sweet to me, but lately I think he can sense my hormonal-ness and he always tries to cheer me up or changes the topic to a more pleasant one. (This is good practice for him, cause I know I'm going to be a mess when labor hits! erg!)

2. Puppies. (all doggies are puppies to me) I know I don't have one, but they instantly bring my joy. Even watching videos of them make my day that much brighter. They are so honest, and innocent. Hahaha, as I'm writing this I'm thinking of examples in my head. (The look they give when they know they did something bad, its like they have to fess up to you...) Or every time they see you, its like they live their whole life just to love you. I love puppies. (they are the reason I watch America's Funniest Home Videos)

3. Izzy. I know I know. This one is kinda a cheater one. I haven't stayed up all night with her yet, or changed a smelly diaper yet either, but man-o-man I just can't get the excitement outta me. Yay!

4. Laughing. Michael these days is so funny (see #1). I was sick on Friday, so I stayed home, and it was so fun to have the whole weekend with him. I think we laughed the majority of the time. I think that helped with me getting better too... I love hearing funny kid stories, or puppy stories (see #2) or just silly things. I just love to laugh... A good belly shaking, belly button popping laugh. Love it.

5. My home. Some times Michael and I have to escape and just get out, but at the same time, I love going home and knowing its mine. Its where we belong. It just a nice feeling. I think it is really coming together too. For some reason, its easier to clean these days, which you wouldn't think is the case cause I'm just getting fatter and fatter... I think Michael and I have finally gotten into a groove (yes it has taken this long...) I love inviting people over and chilling on the couch or playing a game...

6. Getting Kicked. (this should probably go under #3, but I feel its separate..) Its probably one of the best feelings in the world. Even when they are semi-painful. Its just a little kick or punch that makes you go, "Aw, she is with me, I'm special..." And when you look down and your tummy is lop-sided or its moving all by itself, it just makes ya giggle... Feeling her move is definitely worth the first 3months of misery...  I really am gonna miss that a lot once I have her. (but then I will have her! woot woot!) (I guess I can't lose!)

7. Picking on my Dad. We have a very special relationship. (where he acts like a 13 year old) I don't know why, but it is sooo satisfying to get him into trouble. (not that he really gets in trouble.) We literally can't sit next to each other during church, all we do is giggle. Silly old Man...

8. Roller Coasters. I haven't been on one in forever! I really can't wait til the next time I can get on one....

9.Our Couch. I have a "special spot" (this is what Michael calls it... hahaha) in other words its where he knows not to sit, if I'm home... Hahahaaa... This spot on the couch can put me to sleep in minutes. I don't know how or why, but if I sit there, I'm as good as asleep. (its pretty much where I lived this weekend, being sick and all...)

10. Chamomile Tea. Lately its the only thing that helps me fall asleep. I would like to thank my wonderful Sister-In-Law, Leah for introducing me to this one. I don't know, maybe its all mental, but as soon as I take my first sip I can feel a wave of relaxation go over my body, un-flexing any muscles I didn't know were flexed, and I can let go of whatever happened that day and just fall asleep.
