Michael and his brother Cristopher love being cold. So they installed a SWAMP COOLER in our house. It took them a Day and a 1/2 to install, and presto its freezing in Casa de la Hilsabeck.
This is on our side yard, in the backyard. Michael even built steps!
This is IN the closet that is UNDERNEATH our stairs.They had to get the ducts special made, but these days its really cheap.
This is the stair landing where the freezing cold air comes out. We wanted it on the floor so it doesn't blow into your face when you are walking up the stairs. Cause it really pumps it out... Plus it evenly distributes the freezing air upstairs and downstairs...
And they even made the control right there in the wall by our thermostat. Very convenient. (I might paint the black dial so its not so black...)So, when you come over to my house this summer, remember to bring your jacket. You will need it...

ReplyDeleteThat is so awesome. I have a feeling I know what we will be doing when we have some extra money. I am sure that Mike and Chris will be getting a phone call from my husband. They did an excellent job!
ReplyDeleteI feel for you Molly. Jason loves to be cold too. And did I catch a bit of sarcasm in that post? At least the unti is concealed well! My Grandma and Grandpa's old house in St G had one, you could see it from the front of the house. It was like the house had a huge tick off the side, up on the second story. Red neck style baby! Complete with large gaping hole in the hallway upstairs, he he. Yours looks really good! Did you know they make the thermal type garments?
