Ok, so Michael and I have been hard at work, working on our home. It finally seems like all of our projects are coming together and getting done.
1. Cleaning up the grime from buying a foreclosure
2. Painting the walls
3. Re-Grouting the floor
4. ORGANIZING
5. Installing Blinds
Last night we finished staining the grout, (it was easy, but it was a lot of back work, and sitting on cold hard tile isn't my idea of a good time.) and Michael installed our new baseboards. (New Baseboards!!!!)
(ps. Baseboards are a lot more work than they seem. First you paint them (twice to make sure its nice and even) then you install, then caulk over all the holes and the top and the floor, then you get to paint them again!) (note: you have to repaint the bottom of the walls to get that crisp line.)
After we caulk and paint (again) our downstairs will be finished!......
Yeah Right!
I have yet to hang anything up on my walls. I have become an infamous frame collector! (and I have no idea what I'm gonna do with them!) I have been RACKING my brain for decorating ideas, looking over decorating blogs and websites trying to figure out if any of those ideas would actually work in my house, or if Michael would like it and etc...

and I can actually imagine doing some of the things she does in her house! I'm totally copy-catting her guest room ideas... I love her use of color and style. AND its not just junk on shelves, its clean, no clutter kind of style...
I don't know how I came across this blog, but I'm so glad I did. I'm gonna go home tonight and take the before pictures of my house! (well I gotta take pictures of my NEW BASEBOARDS anyways...)
I don't know why, but NEW BASEBOARDS makes a HUGE difference in MollyLand. I never knew this about myself til now...
It's okay to get excited about baseboards. Now, if you had written NEW GROUT in huge bold letters, then I'd be a little worried. Being a grout enthusiast is just weird.
ReplyDeleteYay on the new base boards! We are getting ready to do the same thing. And words of wisdom for me? I could use all the help I can get! =)
ReplyDeleteLove that lady's blog! She does have some great ideas. I like the DYI Canvas Wall Art project. You should check out this blog:
